The Orcs started friendly but the dice never did....

1st turn before he could even think of smashing his friendly green hand on a Hero, super lineman Artuk was KOed and never got out of if.
on the 3rd turn the friendly's fan stood up for the pass made 3 yard from the end zone to see Ram drop it...then the Heros got the ball and manage their way to the Greenies end zone.

on the second half the greenies lost a little of their friendly and KOed 5 of the Heros but could never get the ball off the ground...came close to tying the game but came short, maybe 1 or 2 more turns would have helped

Welcome, ladies and gentlecreatures, to the new season of Hero Bloodball! That's right, our team was all but retired when a single voice called out from the crowd, begging the team to continue to give hope to all who need it in this troubled world! Well, a real hero can't walk away from a plea like that, so now we Heroes are back with a vengeance!

And what a way to start our new season, but with the first victory not only for this fledgling franchise, but also in the career of it's head coach, known only as "Coach!"

It was a grueling contest, not because of the number of injuries, but just from the inordinate amount of stress the new team was under to find some way to alter their lousy history. One good way is to set up a wall of blockers and race the opening kickoff around the perimeter and down the sideline for the first score of the game, merely a few rounds in.

Another good way is to then stifle the other team's effort at moving the ball, creating an impenetrable wall of defenders which the foe could create nicks in, but never a crack big enough to break through.

Second half begins, and we're starting to believe we can actually do this now, we might win! But there's a whole other half to go... We had to kickoff, and never saw the ball til very late in the half. Our opponent was using his 4 Black Orcs as a very effective fence to keep our Heroes at bay and away from his thrower, who was just waiting for an orc to break into the open and race to the endzone. Just as it appeared one might, big Dalvo comes flying in from nowhere to lay the upstart out with a broken jaw. (The apo's secondary profession is dentist, so no game time expected to be missed.)

However, Dalvo's impulsive move left the middle of the field wide open, to which the enemy ball carrier and several blockers cut-back and started to race for home and the tying score. Meanwhile, the Heroes are at low strength, thanks to 5 of the team being knocked out, including Fritz, the team captain at QB. Dalvo again proved his worth (despite 3 Bone Head fails) by clogging the middle up til his teammates could surround the enemy thrower, who slipped in fear when that big, mean Ogre glared in his direction. A scramble for the ball ensued, with both sides slipping on the torn-up turf in the center of the field and coming up empty, til finally Cuchillo snatched the ball and threw it out to a teammate. Not enough time remained on the clock to score again, but the win was assured! Champaigne all around!

Of course, the coach must've had a bit too much bubbly, as he x'ed on the line to send the team from Open to Tournament division, but the Heroes have regained their confidence and fan-base, and are looking forward to future victories! Forward, Heroes!
