“The way Clarkin recalls the match isn't quite accurate. Here is what really happened if memory serves me correct.
We were just out on the field training and frolicking as all chaos dwarves do. Really letting the cows run around and playing in the summer grass. All of the sudden the orcs are upon us! Its a green tide full of brute force and cruel intentions.
What choice did we have?? We had to play them and play them hard.
But alas despite our heroic fight , neither party could claim the day. (All though we clealy were the moral winners, because of the cows of course.)
In the end I think everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a lovely day at the park. ”
“Our orcses face DeMoorck's chaos dwarves. As we have recently lost our troll (-av injury => retirement) we have just 11 players for the game and have to put good players on the LOS as we kick off (egads!)
And indeed our fears are realised as their first turn sees a gang foul from their DP badly hurting a block/sidestep black orc- ouch! We start to fight back, getting near their ball carrier but not close enough as our blitz attempts are foiled by poor dodges and several instances of double skulls. They capitalise on this by running an ignored dwarf down the far side and then lobbing the ball to him. Do these dwarves have pointy ears!? We can just about get a blitz on him: 1d.. push... rerolled into a skull! But luck is on our side for the first time as he sprints downfield and double 1s on a GFI! We recover the ball and just about manage to hold off the dwarves (most of whom are out of position) until the end of the half - though with all our RRs burnt off we don't get any credible attempt at scoring ourselves.
2/2 KOs wake up on our side and 2/3 on their side so it's 10 of us vs 11 of them for the 2nd half.
We do get to start things off this time though and we do it in style with a 5-assist DP 'ground hug' seeing a dwarf badly hurt! (our only foul of the game) We try and push up one side with the ball but excellent defending from the dwarves combined with our KO box starting to fill up leaves us in trouble. A lone blitzer runs for the endzone with the ball, but they are able to free a centaur who charges back and knocks him over with the ball flying into the crowd (dwarven fans) who toss it right into the middle of the of the pitch. There's players all around, but they are all tied up with their opponents and it could go either way with just two turns left. Both teams try their best to get in a scoring position and get at the ball but despite throwing everything at it... neither the orcs nor the chaos dwarves can make it happen and the game ends a nailbiting, hardfought 0-0 thriller!
Great game DeMoorck- cya next time!”
