This game was played in torrential, muddy, disgusting swamp conditions, which the Huskies absolutely loved. Sotek was clearly spectating from on-high as early on, every good play made by the orcs was quickly turned around by the determined skinks and saurus. Following a bad kick saurus, Brad Cieslak started the drive with the ball. After some maneuvering an orc blitzer was able to knock the ballcarrier to the pitch the orc thrower, Derork Clark scooped it up and boxed in any dodges off the line, besides one, an agility 1 saurus named Ryan Diem, well he dodged, sacked Derork and the ball scatter threw the scrum to the open arm of skink, Michael Turner who quickly dodged away toward the endzone. The orcs countered by focusing their orky frustration on the other skinks, and finally blitzing the ballcarrier, was orc blitzer, Sawblade Lee, luckily removing the skink from play. Saurus, Larry Brink then ran downfield and scooped up the ball and raced toward the endzone. The orcs continued to gang-tackle anyone nearby and the half ended with a 0-0 tie.

The 2nd half saw Muford conduct a seminar on understrength D-fense. With only 5 saurus, and 1 skink, he successfully defended against 9 orcs for almost the entire half. His luck ran out and the orcs were able to score the last second TD to win the match.

In what should have been a one-sided affair after the skinks were removed, Muford was able to really give me a run for my money. which I think speaks volumes for his coaching ability. It might speak volumes for my coaching ability but lets be the glass is half-full analysts, shall we? :o)

Good Game, Muford!

MVP – well you could look at multiple lizards who performed well under pressure, such as AG 1 saurus picking up the ball…IN POURING RAIN! No less, but the biggest overall game changer in this one would have to be Sawblade Lee, who successfully blitzed the skink in position to score, has a hattrick of Casualties on Skinks, and who scores the winning TD in the last moments of the match.

At this point, PainState is rolling pretty good, 2-1-0 and 9-0 casualties ain't bad, we have 12 players and are in a three-way tie at the top of the bracket currently. Our next match is against a 10 man Lizard squad and I believe we've learned a fair lesson against Muford's boys.
