“Well, the path to the semi-final was swathed in blood, the blood of rats!! After an epic clash the Skavens edged out the powerful necros thanks to having a strong bench. Without all the players they have the rats would have been out of the game after turn 4 in the first half, rat after rat hit the dirt and ended up in the dugout and it looked like they were going to be down and out before the end of the first half!! Yet despite the loss of 4 players in 4 turns the rats managed to score to take the lead, the necros replied late in the half to make it 1-1 at half time. Nearly half way through the 2nd half the necros took the lead and it looked bleak for the rats, they still managed to field 11 players though and they seemed to have fixed thier armour problem. There were rumours of a "zombie like creature" lurking around the rats changing rooms before the kick off carrying cardboard replicas of thier armour!! The rats scored within 2 turns of the necros taking the lead and setting up a tense and dramatic climax to the game. After a great kick by the skaven team and a blitz on the ball carrier the necro team were on the back foot, yet they managed to recover the ball and looked to try and score, the skavens reacted quickly and covered the potential scorer and enclosed the ghoul that had the ball, it managed to slip away from its markers but then failed a crucial gfi and left the ball unprotected for the rats to run in a final turn touchdown for the win!!
