A game of two halves (three quarters?). The Knights again went for the unorthodox T1 skulls w/RR armour break man-down tactic and the ensuing rash of 1st half KOs had us ditching Dodgy Eric's new bulk purchased helmets at the break. Never one to duck a challenge of "all you have to do now is score twice in 4 turns" Brian's boys pulled it out of the fire again.

Twahnlows:
3pts - kn`tlAoli for both TDs
2pts - Naka`Kuani threw his weight around
1pt - Totol'naKatl

#4 itz'Kuinnacatl – Dead (RIP)
#7 t'OmAtl – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#7 t'OmAtl – Smashed Knee (NI)
Well, Game 2, and a positive outlook, despite the seasons dire beginnings.

A stellar first half was followed by what can only be described as a lesson in "why you can't keep a good elf down, or, Kick them when they're down, and keep kicking until the moaning and sobbing stops..."

By turn 3 of the first half, the Lizzies were in possession and dominating, despite kicking off. Some appallingly bad dice kept the (K)nights from being able to do much, and when the TD was scored in turn 6, there were a mere 4 elves on the pitch.
All 5 ko's jumped back to their feet and marched onto the pitch for the next kickoff, however, and Coach Luo began to get that sinking feeling. Despite this, the Lizzies stayed true in defence, and managed to tieup or takedown the numerous elves that poured into their backfield, intent on levelling the score before halftime.

The second half rolled around, and the Lizzies decided it was time to sit back and roll down the pitch for a comfortable 2-0 victory. Somewhere along the way, however, disaster struck; a withering blow from Max Bygraves dropped itz'Kuin stone dead, and the apothecary could do nothing to save him! This was followed by a serious injury on t'OmAtl the skink, and all of a sudden, things didnt look so comfortable.
Perhaps in shock and desperation, the Lizzies scored earlier than intended, leaving the High Elves with 4 turns to play the ball...

And its here that the lesson began. Understrength, and outmanned, the Lizzies were much less able to stem the tide of agile elves this time around, and despite a kick-off blitz, the (K)nights scored in two turns...

Twice.

2-2 at the final whistle.

Twahnlows:
3pts - #2 Max Bygraves II: for signalling the change in the tide of the game, killing blitzing Saurus itz'Kuin.
2pts - #10 Kenny: a cas to his credit, and being a source of constant worry with his additional movement
1pts - #8 Dec III: well, he scored the first elf td...

Thanks for this one Richie, was an enjoyable match, despite the RIP! Look forward to playing you again, especially if you keep up the dice rolls from the first half... ;)
