“The word 'mauling' doesn't really come close to describe how Malum Mortuus set about dealing with Narash Val. Early infighting between Illarion and Ktarza left them refusing to play alongside each other, but it was the ease with which Malum penetrated the Val's armour that really started to cause them problems. By the close of the game, 6 players were badly hurt and 2 knocked out, to 1 serious injury, 1 sending off and 1 knockout for Mortuus. The only thing that the Val can be thankful for is that despite this advantage, Malum Mortuus failed to consolidate on their lead by putting points on the board.

After an extremely violent first half, in which Ktarza Revile seemed to be plagued with bad luck, tripping and stumbling with whatever she did, leading to her removal from the field, Malum Mortuus seized control of the ball after it was run out from deep in Narash's half, only to fall on the touch line and be denied a score. Nasha Narzine, mirroring Ktarza's earlier play, also tripped out of a tackle and removed herself from play, nursing bruised pride at her lead feet more than anything else.

In the second half, a poor kick from Narash Val left the ball in Malum's control, but a concerted effort from the dark elves fought back the undead advance for the full 8 turns. Only at the last moment was Blackripper able to shamble over the line to bring the score to 1-0, a well deserved Mortuus victory.”
