Stole the ball repeatedly first half with 1 dice blocks (with block), and even a half dice with a gutter runner, but just couldn't get it clear. Eventually I worked some shenanigans for a 1 dice hit on a mummy by the ball, pow, and dodge out with lino, pick up in tackle zone, and the hand off for the opener against the kick.
Second half, and the khemri armour dice started to work. I backed up, but maysrill was still able to make repeated gfis with mummies to get in range. I fashioned a half opening, and dodged the AG5 gutter through ready to punt the ball to his endzone on a 3+. 1.
Hmmm. Still I knocked his ball carrier over (both teams always caught the ball when it bounced into their square, no matter however many tackle zones there were), and the blitz-ra caught it. Nothing to do but hope for 1s on the GFI, but not to be.
Not fussed about the injuries - only 1 was lasting and he was a rookie lino! I'd have taken you dropping the ball anytime :)

Wilf managed to bottle me up and repeatedly 1db the ball free on my drive, to start the game, culminating in a T8 razzle-dazzle play with a 1db mummy pow, a dodgy lineman getting the ball out of a tackle zone, and a handoff to a gutter, after my own T8 involved a chain push to set up a maybe-possible skeleton passing attempt and a 2GFI score left the ball on the ground.
On Wilf's drive I took off the mittens my mummies had been using in the first half and we started smooshing rats. Wilf backed up to his own goal line with his ever-decreasing supply of defenders and tried to stall out the whole half. It very nearly worked, but my net of khemri slowpokes eventually bottled him in and forced the turnover. I "secured" the ball in T15 when my skeleton's scoop attempt failed and bounced the ball to a blitz-ra 8 squares from the goal. Lacking any option by a -2db with some funky dodging involved, Wilf let me try to make the 2 GFIs to even it up, and Nuffle nodded in quiet approval.
GG Wilf. I imagine you preferred the first half of adept khemri ball handling with fluffy mittens over the more typical second half of businesslike bloodthirst and clumsy pickups.”
