“Our khemri face av8 elves again, probably the hardest team for khemri to beat. There's just 10 of them but we have only 3 mummies and no subs after a rock from a murderous fan in the last game.
We choose to kick off and they make the numbers evens by KILLING a skelly on the LOS with a rookie lineelf (no regen). We try our best to make things difficult for them, eventually managing to get in a 2d blitz on the ball carrier, but the ball bounces onto a blitzer's hands and they are able to get him through the line. We chase after him, knocking him over, but again they are able to reclaim the ball. At some point we MNG a lineelf. They choose to stall for a turn, and we actually manage to get a 1d blitz in, but even with a reroll can't knock him over and he scores on turn 7 with a simple dodge.
Two turns left, but no one has rerolls and the kick lands in our end zone. The elves run backwards, we try and cause an injury (fail) and the half ends.
We have 10 vs 8 for the second half as their KO snoozes on. We start well, with our DP scoring a BH on a lineelf on turn 1. On turn 2 the DP KILLS a blitzer (apo saves) and gets sent off. Meanwhile we have pushed through with the ball but suffered a MNG on a skeleton. We have a clear TD chance by turn 5 but decide we're better off stalling for a draw than kicking back to the elves. We manage to keep them at bay despite brave blitzes by the elves, scoring on turn 7 when the pressure gets too much. 3/4 wake up so they have 7 players, 0 RRs and two turns to try and go for the win, however when we roll a perfect defence it turns out to be impossible.
