“First round of the Fumbbl Cup '09.

Space Orks won the coin toss and chose to receive. Dreadknights hit them from the start with a Blitz! that put the Orcs on their heels. The Dark Elves went all in to try and prevent the cage from forming. It was relatively successful and the Orc ball carrier was sacked by Elric at midfield. Space Orks recovered the ball and again the carrier was sacked this time by Emeyin. A Rookie Lineman went to pick up the ball and found Judas wide open. In a controversial high risk high reward play, the Lineman fumbled the ball as he tried to throw a pass. The Orcs quickly downed the lone Dark Elf and formed a semi cage. A Wizard's fireball seriously injured one of the Black Orcs covering the corner. This led to another takedown of the ball carrier but DK couldn't recover the ball. Emeyin was hit by an Orc but he sidestepped into the ball and it bounced right back into his hands. With an opportunity to handoff for the score, he failed to dodge away and the half ended scoreless.

DK received in the second half and they spread the field out and dropped Elijah back to pass. An Orc Blitzer rushed him from the right side and flushed him out of the pocket. Elijah was now trapped by the sidelines with most of his team. In one critical mistake, Elijah tried to hand the ball off to Emeyin who was in a Black Orc's tackle zone. The hand off was disrupted and what could have been a touchdown was not to be. On the next turn DK still had another shot to score. Nathaniel raced to the end zone ready for the ball to be thrown to him. Unfortunately, Elijah failed to pick up the ball in a tackle zone and on the ensuing play he was thrown out of bounds and ripped apart by the angry Dark Elf fans. Nathaniel was also seriously injured (niggling) as he was thrown out of bounds. Both seemed to deserve what they got for their failure.

DK won the coin toss in Overtime but only had a timeout left (1reroll). They spread the field once again but this time decided to strike earlier to put a point on the board. The second critical play of the game would happen as the Witch Lord, Malikith got bloodthirsty and ended up failing a block costing his team a turnover. This would cost the Dark Elves the game as their ball carrier was wide open for a take down. SO forced the fumble and grabbed the ball trying to race up field in time. Two attempts at the ball failed and Wazdakka Gutsmek was home free to run in the game winner and advance his team to the second round!
