“Second game in the Fumbbl Cup. On the outset a much tougher game than my first so obviously I had great fears because I hardly ever win against opponents that have better teams than me. And my record against elves isn't the best either. (I'm assuming due to lack of practice)
I hired myself a star and a runesmith thinking that whatever I did to further my chances was a good thing. And thus the game started.
I received and all was well. Then I opened up my defence to a counterattack and I no longer carried the ball and with no-one securing my half of the pitch it was a simple enough touchdown for the opposition.
Now Dwarves aren't known for their great counterattacking abilities and this team is definitely no exception. Silently I hoped for overtime. Perhaps some thunderous defence and then a quick ballsnatch. After all I had an AG 5 blitzer running around causing havoc.
Well the blitzer was probably man of the match (together with Dan Diri) but even with two one-die POWS and an interception I just couldn't capitalize. I think it has to do with pessimism. I do all kinds of desperation moves but hardly ever expect them to succeed so when they do succeed I have no idea what to do next.
In the end I think no-one "outlucked" the other. I can't think of a single time when a crucial play failed because of the roll of the die. Instead it was all grind and fun times. The best games are those that are decided on skill alone.
And I suppose I'm not worthy of my CR :D
And I have to admit that I'm sort of happy about managing to hurt people. Even though I tend to greet my opponents with the hopes for BH, I've been hurt so much that I just love it when the opponents go crunch under my fist instead of the other way around. And even the crowd got their blood. I'm not sure if I'll put the witch into the Book of Grudges or not. It was a clear case of the crowd eating people.”
