“For the record, we tried our best to win. Unfortunately, our best involved a lot of failed bonehead rolls. The upside? Dorf-bits scattered far and wide across the pitch. Dwarfs are one of the worst starting matchups for ogres, since all that block and tackle really cramps the style of a team that's half goblins. I'll take this as a team-development game and try to get some momentum going as the team improves.
The dwarfs played a solid game, and survived a risky play-style to secure the win. First half, we ogres received in a downpour. The ball was fortunately fielded cleanly, and despite numerous 3db pushes, we started to apply pressure up the field.
Then Boneheads happened.
Next thing I knew, the dwarfs took the ball, as the ogres began splashing in the puddles all over the pitch rather than protect the goblin with the ball. A chase ensued, but the ogres just weren't interested enough to help. The dwarfs took a 1-0 lead into the half and I had no solace but the 2 dwarfs I RIP'ed in the same turn midway through.
The second half, the weather cleared, and the outnumbered dwarfs overloaded one side to begin. The kick when the other side and shallow, and the ogres licked their chops. However with numerous 1 die and -2 die blocks and a few dodges, the dwarfs both secured it and reversed field twice on the ogres, drawing them all to the ball side, then zooming (a relative term in an ogre/dwarf game) the other way as the befuddled ogres passed up a free shot at the ball to look at the pretty rainbow left after the rain.
A second drive in the half gave the ogres another chance to score, but a lack of rerolls made for a comedy of errors before the ball popped out of a midfield scrum and into the hands of Fuse, who was promptly picked up by the scruff of his neck and heaved clear. Unsuccessfully blocked by a runner, Fuse had only to make a couple dodges to score and save face for the Rampage, but alas, Fuse sucks.
GG Sttucker13. While I may not have won the battle, I've dealt a blow to a dangerous race, and set myself up some for the war to come.”

“Well. Ugh. Wow.
We won, that's something I guess.
My opponent did a pretty good job of recapping the ins and outs of the match, but failed to highlight the significant BEATING I took in the process. His 4 CAS (including 2 RIPS and a SI) have put a serious damper on our season. We'll miss you Marvus and Harvin! *tears* I do believe I learned to hate Ogres during this match.
We now have Khemri, Necro, Orcs, and Norse as the next four games. Needless to say we drew about the worst early-season roster one could get, and losing two players so early means we're playing from behind. We somehow have to manage to survive the next few games while getting enough coin to draft in a couple more players and an Apothecary. All the while skilling up enough that we don't get circles run around us when we get to what will hopefully be a much less-bashy second half of the season.
It's going to be tough. I hope we're up to it!”
