“Of all the years I've been playing BB, I really can't think of a game prior to this that I actually felt like I'd been robbed.
On kickoff after Gres went 1-0 up I failed to pick the ball up with sure hands (the ball bounced forward, making it possible for Gres's lineman to reach it). Gres dodged (4+, 3+, 2+ vs tacklers), GFI, pickup in tz, dodged, and threw the ball accurately to the other side of the pitch. No chance to score from there. End of half.
Start of second half. Turn 2. Gres uses his blitzer to make two 3+ dodges, two 2+ dodges, a gfi, a 1-d block (pow), another gfi to pickup the ball in a tz after my AG4 blitzer failed to catch the dumpoff on a 2+, all with no rr. Then his player survives three blocks with 2-d and tackle to knock him down in my turn. In his next turn he attempted a 2-d I choose blitz (the best I could take was both down). THEN, he dodges needing a 5, a 4, and a 2 against tacklers to run off and score... again, all with no rr.
Lost my chance to go for 2 quick TDs when I lost a turn from a pitch invasion on the following kickoff. Spent the next five minutes wondering what the hell I did wrong and how exactly I managed to get burgled and murdered while I was playing an online boardgame.
On reflection, Gres certainly played well, and took the risks he needed to win. However, I'm not sure many would have been successful in taking those risks - or even tried them. But he was up against it, and all credit to him for going all-out, rather than going on the defensive to protect his team.
So very disappointed with the result, which makes the rest of the season turn into a real uphill battle for survival. ”
