#7 t'Oxtli – Dead (RIP)
“Back to the Regionals for the Lizzies, and Coach Luo was looking forward to this, Rd 1 of SWL Season 33; a rookie(ish) Undead team, time to start the rebuild... right??
Ok, so things didn't go quite according to plan. From the moment the teams walked onto the pitch, it was clear the 'United had something special going on. A tanked up Mummy, and an assistant coach running around with a jar of 'undead vitamins'? What was going on here?
Things pretty much went downhill from there, with players going down almost from the outset. The Apothecary was used in an ill-advised moment of panic, attempting to keep team captain Tamalli on the pitch to try and work some 'magic. Totol couldn't land a solid block all game, causing near (and not so near)-turnovers with distressing regularity, and Skinks putting themselves out of action, and opening up paths to the ballcarrier meaning the only real chance of a touchdown was cruelly taken away.
In the end, a scrappy, determined defensive effort (with only two Sauri left in the dying moments of the game), meant the final scoreline was only 0-1, and with only a rookie skink going down to the Undead menace.

3pts - #4 Asbestosis: Basically the Wight who turned the game for the undead, depriving the Lizzies of a TD, and using his tackle very effectively, stopping dodging plays, and bringing down skinks.
2pts - #2 Bonded: The unstoppable force - although none of his blocks hit home with injurious power, this Mummy wouldn't go down, even when he should have!!
1pts - #5 Tilux: For the game winning TD....
In the end, a really well-played game by karix, who used his teams strengths and the handicaps to great effect. Looking forward to a rematch...;)”

Bonded was saved from an injury in the first half, and my other mummy Friable and 3 of his zombie friends woke up for the second drive.
Luohghcra defended well despite being down on numbers from the first turn, he managed to get the ball loose but couldn't force the TD before the end of the half.
The second half was a numbers game with stack fouls and good blocking ensuring an easy ghoul with Sauran left on the pitch, and a second TD nearly coming in the 16th turn with only 2 Saurans to defend the line.
Twanhlows:
3: naca'Tamalli - A constant threat and the blitzer who knocked the ball free. Also for eating up the apo on a BH foul. Only to be BH fouled again the next turn.
2: Totol'naKatl - For chewing up 3 rerolls and ending Luohghcra's turn with a failed block at least twice.
1:oLotl - For rerolling both down and getting skull to BH himself on Asbestosis which let that wight dodge easily to blitz the ball carrier.
