“Our ill-luck orcs continue in their battle to get to TR187 for a B Minors, this time facing jimjo's undead. TS are even but they get 2 handicaps to give them a big advantage, smelling salts + illegal drugs meaning both mummies are STR6! They have an impressive record of only one loss in their 20 games.
We kick deep and they charge everyone but their lone ghoul forwards, piling 4 players in around our skill-less black orc for a DP gang foul (stun). We opt not to foul back for now and charge players through to try for the ball. Their ghoul grabs it and then runs for one sideline, far from our tackler. We mark him but they are able to dodge on and on our turn we fail the GFI to blitz him down. He runs on into reach of the endzone and it's all we can do on our turn to get players on him (including our AGI4 tackler at last after some superb dodges). They burn up their last reroll on some uneccessary blocks, but then make the 3+ dodge for the touchdown, unfortunately!
We will have 4 turns to get the counterscore. We push forwards while our +AGI blitzer scoops up the ball at the back. They are out of rerolls and it shows as we get a handy turnover from a double skulls blitz at one point. On our 7th turn we dash a prone, ignored lineorc into scoring range and on the far sideline- hence out of blitz range from any undead- but then fumble the pass to him! They charge a mummy and a few extras in around the ball, but manage to KO their ghoul GFI'ing into a better position. We blitz a zombie onto the ball, but it bounces right BEHIND their mummy in an untenable position. We knock a different zombie onto that spot and luckily it bounces twice back out the other side of the mummy into a clear space! Our super blitzer dodges back, grabs it, runs up to our line orc who catches the 2 square pass and runs in the 1-1 touchdown!
As a bonus their ghoul fails to wake up so their only viable ball stealers are their two wights as they kick to us for the 2nd half. Once again the undead set up in a super safe central muddle that lets us move players into the half on both sides while our AGI4 collects a deep kick- this should let us draw them to one side again. And indeed, both wights move to the side we've piled more players into so we tie them up and then try and get the ball to an unmarked blitzer on the far side.. but our AGI4 fumbles the 3+ pass!
This unfortunate turnover lets them get an absolute blinder of a turn in where the whole balance of the game is swapped. First a zombie blitzes our AGI4, KILLING him (apo saves), then a wight dodges through and grabs the ball, and finally a DP fouls with the eye on him to badly hurt the AGI4 on the ground. Suddenly from being in control we have no way at the ball!! The following turn their DP KOs a black orc and the turn after a 2nd DP badly hurts a blitzer, though the ref has finally woken up and sends them both off. At this stage we have no way to get at the ball and decide to minimise damage against the team by not standing up, so the undead spend their last few turns gang fouling everyone they can, though they manage no cas with both DPs missing, before finally scoring the winner on turn 8.
