“The first half saw an outnumbered Dwarven team kicking off. Naffles Finest made a quick bid towards the strong side (made so after a series of stunned Dwarven defenders) but the ball-carrier tripped over his own cleats at the goal-line and spit the ball into a pocket of Dwarves ready to scoop it up. Ruldin got hold of the ball and with some key blocks ran it in for a touchdown. They kicked off, but time expired before the Finest could get an answering point.

The second half began with a Blitz! by the Finest. Fortunately for the Steel-Heels the Finest continued in their tradition of tripping over their toes. Bragh made a break down the sidelines and blitzed a Dark Elf out of his way to score the second touchdown.

By the time the Steel-Heels were two points up, they were also two players up; having caused a number of Badly Hurts, a KO, and a Serious Injury. When the Finest made their six-man march towards the end-zone they were quickly enveloped and forced to surrender the ball. The Finest players all laid on their backs for the final two turns of the half as Bragh handed the ball to Ruldin for his second touchdown of the game.

All in all a good recovery game for the Steel-Heels, earning enough gold to purchase another Longbeard and (finally) not suffering any casualties. Though this game went well for the Mountaindeep dwarves they are still a man down. And with a partial roster and a weakened lineman the next game against the Orcs proves to be yet another challenging week. ”
