“Coach Bascrebolder was really hyped up about this match. He knew the Disciples had to win against this strong competitor to have a chance for one of the coveted promotion spots in the division. Being totally outskilled by the agile elves he reasoned that he had to use the elves’only weakness... lack of numbers.
So before the match he reminded his players to “bash ‘em hard, bash ‘em some more and when they’re down bash them yet some more”.
The match opened with the Disciples receiving and true to their coaches strategy start bashing. The first few turns saw some elves leaving the pitch either KO-ed or injured. From there on the dwarves advanced slowly along the field maiming opponents wherever they could. When the half ended the dwarves had a one TD advantage and the elves were down to 7 players for their offense.
A snaked gfi by Jan-Peter left the Disciples vulnerable to a lightning attack on their right flank. The elves broke through and were intend on passing the ball for a quick equaliser. Luckily Pieter-Jan anticipated this cunning move and did the unexpected... he intercepted the ball in midflight! A novelty for the team!
From there on the dwarfish defense quickly turned to the offense. Coach Camy used his highly agile elves to perform miraclulous dodges and there were some tense moments before the ball could be secured in Klaas’s hands for the final touchdown of the match.
The only downside to this otherwise great match was that again our apothacary failed in his duties. After failing to heal fatal wounds twice before this very season coach Bascrebolder roared in anger and arranged for the fans to “dispose” of the useless drunk and went off searching for a decent apo... which most ppl agree will surely be needed against the Ogres of Eggs Sausage and Chips.
Thanks for the great game Camy and gl with your team! ”
