“B Minors - Round II

Our khemri + Ramtut III are up against lepazuri's norse + Zara the Slayer. Should be a game for the fans to remember!

They kick off first and roll up a blitz - but Zara's dauntless fail means she can't knock over her target mummy and instead retreats backwards to safety. We KO a lineman and then fail to pick up the ball with our +AGI thro-ra at the back. Zara blitzes over Ramtut and they go for a gang foul - a stun! They then charge two players into our backfield, threatening the ball, but we manage to keep them at bay and get the ball to the halfway line.

On turn 3 their mino -MA injures ramtut with a 1d block but luckily he regens! We counter with our first cas- badly hurting a rookie lineman and push onwards. The norse have the upper hand on blocks all across the board, but we've got the position, with the ball difficult to reach. They get tackle zones on our thro-ra several times but we shrug them off and eventually score on turn 8. Zara did KILL one of our skellies at one point, but it turned out to be a false alarm when he got up a few minutes later none the worse for wear.

They get one turn of fun, managing two skeleton KOs (who bounce right back up at half time) - and we call for the ref to have a look at those stakes Zara's carrying. Amazingly he bans her from the game at half time!! A huge bonus for us as we set up to kick off.

They start the half in style however, KILLING one of our mummies with a +2 DP foul.. ouch, we're not going to have the money to replace them after this game! They keep the ball deep while a big brawl rages around the LOS, til we move Ramtut slightly into their half on turn 4. They need to get the ball through, but they don't have an easy way to get players free, and they try some risky -2d blocks that unfortunately don't work out. We take this chance to blitz the ball carrier over with ramtut, who then stands over the ball menacingly- stopping them from recovering it until our +AGI thro-ra can get upfield. But on turn 7 their lineman manages the pickup in two tackle zones, dodges away and tries to get upfield for a pass, luckily failing a GFI and knocking himself out! We position Ramtut by the ball again and stall out the final turn.

GG lepazuri, though it's going to be painful in round III for us!!”
