#6 Three – Broken Neck (-AG)
A first half that had the Elves grasping at straws and playing without any clear strategy or plan. Still, it went quite well until the dying seconds of the half. Ahead 1-0, with a goblin safely nursing broken bones off the pitch and the ball in the hands of a speedy Elf near the opponent end zone, things looked good.
Too good.
For as Nuffle has decreed, let not him who feels lucky, get cocky!

Wham, the sound of the ball-carriers face hitting the pitch, as his muscles betray him while he goes for that last burst of speed.
Splat, as a fellow Elf is smashed to bloody pulp near the center of the field.
Krunch, as another Elf bites the dust and is carried from the field.

And then we were 5 vs. 8 and things looked mighty grim.
Oh, and is the this point where I should mention the enthusiastic crowds that had showed up for this game and decided to "help" the varying Referees throughout it? First, a random fan was placed on the pitch instead of the original Ref, and this newcomer seemed not care at all about the violence perpetrated by both teams.

Then, he is replaced at the beginning of the second half by a hulking Ogre with racial preferences. Luckily, it didn't take long before Elf fans crying bloody murder had gotten him safely taken out (or shall we say... to pieces) and had him replaced with the happy fan, whose grasp of the fouling rules (or lack of them) might have been a bit tenous.

And in the midst of this, the remaining Gobbos on the field pulled a nice TD, evening the score... and forcing the Legends to take to the pitch with only three players left.

But not even Star Catcher Death Wish could make magic this time, and though it was a fight to the finish, the score stayed at 1-1 as nimble Elves tried to salvage the situation while dodging the hulking Ogre brutes and their small, icky friends... ;)

All in all, it was great fun!

#16 Phrenology – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#16 Phrenology – Smashed Hip (-MA)
Much of the match was played under a mutual GTR, first in the first half, then in the second, after a brief period where I had the ref all to myself. It was NOT a good day to be a blood bowl official today.

After a miserable first half of fael, our T8 resulted in cas on the ST7 tree and one of his blodgers (a surf/perm). The second half we steamrolled to a comfortable TD, then couldn't get ahold of the ball if our life depended on it. Fortunately the woodies dice were laced with arsenic, and they did nearly as much damage to themselves as I did to them.

GG Raasted.
