“OCCS Reeborc Stomp! Jan 2010 TR 100 - game 3 for Cheezie Poofs
This was a rough game for me injury-wise, but at least it was a victory.
On turn 8 of the second half I managed to pick the ball up with a GR even though it was surrounded by 3 beastmen, dodged away, and made 2 GFIs to cut the pass range down to short. I only needed a 3 to make a 4th TD, but of course after all those great die rolls to get the ball and get away, I rolled a 2 and the game ended. I think this is the 3rd straight game that the Cheezie Poofs have had a chance to score in turn 8 and failed an easy roll (either a throw, a handoff or a catch).”
“My first game in almost a month, my first time seeing Rotters (and I'm the one playing them). My first game in the Reeborc Stomp sounded like a challenge! And a very fun challenge it was.
I got a MNG handicap on one of his gutters and GTR for the first half. Doing great so far. But first turn I get pretty horrible luck and manage to BH myself on a block and he scores in his 2nd turn. 11% luck at that point :p oh well, it happens.
As soon as I get the ball, I manage to KO a liner, SI another, and apo-fail SI on a gutter. That's great, but I did also KO myself on that last one and so he managed to make a line beside my ball carrier. I managed to get the ball forward with some protection, but quickly failed a 2Dblock which gave him a good chance at taking the ball. And before I knew t, it was in my zone and I couldn't do much about it, especally since I brain-freezed on my blitz. 2-0 for him at half-time, but I used my GTR to send another liner in the SI box. For some reason, all 3 CAS I did during the game turned out to be niggles.
2nd half, I used my superior numbers to concentrate him on 1 flank and then handoff to the other side for an easy trip to the end zone. But I was trailing by 1 with about 5 turns left and no RR.
He got the ball and waited with his GR while a few rats went forward. And I failed my first block on a double-skull with my now-KO rotter. He passed to the stormvermin in my zone and I was unable to get it down with my blitz. With some luck, he managed to break through and score, making it 3-1 before the game ended.
As expected with Bruno Blanchet, this game was full of fun and surprises.”
