“Antipodal Regional Shield 01/10, round 1 game.

This was a fun game, well played by both coaches. It went to OT and the Legion won the toss and elected to receive. Both teams basicly had scoring drives that the other team couldn't stop, using up most of the clock and not leaving any time for their opponent to score in the same half. The early loss of Krodogg (Werewolf) took away the speed advantage that the Raiders would otherwise have exploited. The 2 Wights had phenomenal games, but Oleg Kurtyitsin paid for it in the end when he was sent off the pitch. The Mummies for Goa'uld Legion racked up 3 casualties, leaving 1 each for Teal'c (Blitz-ra) and his son Rya'c (Thro-ra). Rya'c also contributed a TD, as did M'zel (Skeleton) whose TD won the game for the Legion. He'rak (Skeleton) was awarded the MVP for being all over the field when he was needed most (+MA).

A good win for the Goa'uld Legion who look forward to round 2 of the tournament. The Doomstone Raiders will be a little shorthanded their next game, but should recover after that and take the pitch again soon.”
