#12 Talaxus – Dead (RIP)
#14 Demonox – Dead (RIP)
It was the second round of the OCCS Orcland Wooden Shield, 2Lane Green Wave After Wave coming off a coin toss with the Underdark Black Knights and Mortarion's Guards coming off a bye. The Guards opened up the game looking like they meant business. They kicked to the orcs and then immediately put pressure on the ball carrier. The orcs tried valiantly to reverse the daring tactics of the Guards, if only to buy enough time to re-secure the ball carrier. With the beast Satharial tying up as many as 5 orcs at a time however, the few unmarked beastmen quickly knocked the ball loose. Felrath picked it up and ran down for the score.

In the ensuing kickoff, it quickly became apparent that the early performance of the Guards had made 2Lane Green Wave After Wave mad. At the kickoff, Jug killed Demonox, Kek KO'd Veritas, and Hek fouled the rotter Nemesis to unconsciousness (both Veritas and Nemesis never woke until well after the game had finished.) With their numbers quickly dwindling, the Guards tried to hold the line, but then Zug killed Talaxus opening up the far sideline. A pass from Kaz to Kek was dropped, but there were few Guards left and even fewer in a position to do anything about the ball lying on the ground next to Kek. Felrath got close, and Satharial tried to hang on to anyone in a position to help get the ball. Despite the Guards' efforts, Satharial was brought down allowing Kaz to pick up the ball, hand it to Kek, and allowed Kek to sprint for the score. A last turn kickoff to the Guards brought little change.

With the opening of the second half, things looked grim for the Guards. They were outnumbered 9 to 6, BOTH coaches managed to bribe the ref, and the orcs looked to be in solid control of the line of scrimmage after the kickoff. Despite this, Satharial and Melthas managed to create a hole in the line. Chenthal handed the ball to Felrath who sprinted through the hole and down field only to trip and stun himself. The orcs quickly recovered, using the ref's paid distraction to sequentially foul to unconsciousness Melthas and Felrath, with Ixiel KO'd along the way. Uhrgar was tripped in a last ditch attempt to stop the march to the end zone, also ending up unconscious. With only Satharial and the immensely strong Chenthal still awake, the orcs calmly scored with ease.

Another rough Orcland Wooden Shield game for the guards. So far they've won 1 out of 5 Orcland games, with one bye, and had 4 deaths in the tournament.
