Amorical Regional Playoffs 01/10 - round 1
-----------------------------------------------------------
This was one of the most bizarre matches I have ever played. The fluctuation of luck was unbelievable and the pixels it centered itself on defied all reason.

The Gitz looked like they were going to obliterate the Masters of Misfortune in the beginning. Every dice roll went their way. But the magnificent Hope the Waaghdancer is a one man army. With his AG 5, leap and strip ball he very nearly halted the Gitz offensive on his own. It took some un-orcish ball handling in T8 to run in the TD.

Jinxed sneakily proclaimed his chances dead from that on, despite my gut feeling that it would turn up yet another weird loss. Our last match ended on a similar note. The Gitz continued to be lucky in the 2nd half, but with Hope having a near 100 % success rate and suddenly even turning unblockable the MoM couldn't be contained, despite being outnumbered.

When it finally looked like the Gitz would stop the ball a foolish attempt to pick it up scattered it off the pitch. The crowd threw it back in, right in front of the Gitz TD line, and yet again Hope managed to break away, leaping and sprinting past enemies and of course keeping himself upright on the following blitz, managing to run in a bizarre T8 TD.

With the Masters of Misfortune getting a re-roll on the kick-off and starting with the ball in OT the tables had turned. Now the Gitz didn't even appear stronger on paper. The re-roll was spent early though and both teams had a nervous struggle on the pitch, aware that every failed roll would be a turn-over. With a shortage of black orcs the MoM started to dwindle in numbers though, as the Gitz mighty blows rained down upon them. But Hope still shone like a true star! When the Gitz finally got him off the pitch, with a crowd surf, he had tied them up so long that they run out of time for a counter-offensive. The now exhausted orcs couldn't uphold their blocking game and the narrow corridor to break through was closed.

During the entire match I had the gut feeling that Jinxed would pull of a magical win. Now when it came to a coin toss I actually felt so sure I would lose it that I thought about it like I had allready lost. To my amazement I didn't. Me and Jinxed both agreed that true luck is about having the crucial luck, not to have the most luck in general, and despite Hope being a beacon of good dice rolls the most crucial luck was tied to the match deciding coin toss, so I ended up the luckiest one.

Thanks for the match, Jinxed! It was a very strange match, hehe. And it's a real shame Hope didn't end up with the MVP. I could have donated mine to him if possible, even if a part of me still wants to see him dead ;)

My newly aged on-4th-skill blitzer decided to niggle out on his first match with the new niggle.

So I started with a mere 11 players. Not good.
On the bright side my handi 'greatest' fell on his thrower; the one player with sure hands.

Thus the stage was set for 'Hope, the Waaghdancer' to shine.

And shine he did.

He was the sole reason the team did not lose before OT.
He was the sole reason we even scraped our way to a draw by the skin of our teeth.

The coin toss we lost.

My only gripe is the fact that I lost FF over this.

Good luck Pirog.
may we meet again with a rebuilt team for me. :)
