“This team was badly hurt, would have headed to retirement if it wasn't for Grit Stronglegs. In fact, as soon as I got the ball, he made it 1-0 for me, not much my opponent could do about it. But since I'm about to enter a tournament and he's the sole reason the team can do something, I decided to keep him behind (far behind!) to ensure his protection.
Araznaroth played his goblins greatly throughout the match, and often left me no other choice than just stay in front of him to slow him down. Funnily enough, his only skilled (break tackle) goblin died early on a skull, trying to block a gutter runner. Using that chance, I lucked up a couple dodges and escaped with the ball before he scored. I even managed to pass to my star GR while the other ne ran to the end zone, and stole a TD before half time.
In the 2nd half, I continued trying to slow him down, which started to be even tougher with a foul-RIPed liner (luckily a skilless niggler) and a KOed gutter. I succeeded many dodges, only to position myself 2 squares away from his goblin wave. But at turn 5 he did score.
I tried going for another Grit Stronglegs TD, but his Perfect Defense and a failed dodge screwed that. This also meant the ball was free in my zone. He took it, and despite my best effort, he found a way through and brought this game to a 2-2 tie. But I had one last chance at a Grit Stronglegs TD. I blocked some goblins away, he went forward and...failed his first GFI. Oh well, I tried.
Great game that was, and I'm glad I got to try this player before the tournament.
