“With only 11 players available, the lizards faced an uphill battle against a dwarf team they had met before. On both occasions, the lizards fielded an understrength team, which played a big part in the result.

It was a tight match until partway through the second half, when the lizards started to suffer from attrition. However, the casualties did not come from blocks - in fact, MB had almost no effect of the game.

Of the casualties suffered by the skinks (including one successfully apothed), one was a foul, one was from a diving tackle, one from a block and two were from failed dodges (as far as I remember!). Tellingly, all the casualties were worse than badly hurt, with two MNGs, one niggle and a -1 Str hitting the lizards' prospects for the upcoming season. The deaths on both sides came from crowd pushes, both sets of fans turning the match into one that will long be remembered in the Book of Grudges.

The game went to overtime as the dwarves played down the clock towards the end of the second half with the score tied at 1-1. With (at that point) enough lizards on the pitch to threaten a quick score at the end of the match, the dwarven coach chose to stall before scoring in the closing seconds of the game, a process they repeated in overtime.
