“Another frustrating game of total Nuffle screwage.
It starts out simple enough. Arktoris gets the kickoff, and skillfully arranges his AG 4 Blitzer into the open for a quick score. Then the misery starts.
On the ensuing kickoff he gets blitz (which makes five games in a row now), and is able to run around and generally muck things up. Additionally, my three best guys are down with heatstroke, while two of his players are similarly affected, one quite good and the other with no upgrades. Eventually I either fumble a 3+ throw with pass or I am blocked at less (the replay thing seems bugged, but both happened and resulted in scores, I just can't remember which happened when) and Arktoris manages another score. During my punishment round I am again plagued by heat, losing three to his two.
Well, that was bothersome, but at least I tell myself I can manage a 1-2 loss, or, if I get lucky, a 2-2 tie. But Nuffle had other plans. On the second half kickoff, for some reason heat exhaustion wasn't rolled (but it was still the weather), so I didn't have to worry about that. But during my drive, the other of the 3+ re-roll throw or blocked at less, lucky scatter pick up thing happened and Ark scores again.
By now I'm becoming a little annoyed, but I'd be happy if I could manage a score of my own and get the three SPPs. Well, of course that fails too on, a GFIT fail, re-roll succeed, second GFIT fail.
In summary, it was a game of frustration. I lost 50% more to the heat (9 to 6), suffered a blitz, a free RR for Ark, and a thrown rock in exchange for a "bad kick" which wasn't bad (although Ark's higher FF makes the FF ones inevitably beneficial for him). I score no points, get no money despite the 104k gate, and lose a FF.
The only area in which I come out on top is injuries. I was fortunate to only be stunned on his single foul, and over time my blocks managed to inflict damage, including killing his double niggled minotaur.
Hats off to Ark who managed his players well and made the best of the hatred Nuffle has for me.
