“Not a hard-hitting game by any standard, although Farsi will miss next game after tripping over the 50 yard line and breaking a rib. No lasting damage is expected, the docs tell us. Good news, Hero fans!
The newest addition to the list of players the Hero's are fans of includes Gently, a side-stepping, blodging, ag 4 elf who can't be touched and knows it. He skipped lightly around all types of defenders to walk backwards into the endzone twice, and it looked like he would get his third score of the day, until Fritz said that's enough of that, and blitzed him into the ground for the first time all day with a big POW! that shook the stadium. The ball got ejected so hard from that collision that it went from the bottom left near the goalline all the way up to top right not far from the opposite goalline! From there it was a simple matter of Strider, our favorite ag 4 catcher (now a blodger in his own right) to sneak the ball into the endzone for the only Hero score of the day.
It's a whole lot easier to do when Dalvo (having survived a near-death experience early in the half) blitzes and opens up a hole to run through, though...
Fritz wasn't his usual passing self today, although the rain was partly to blame for that. The other part was an amazing play by Pride, who neatly intercepted a pass just two steps from the endzone and walked it in, barely 30 seconds after the last score! (A blitz had put him into position for such a drastic maneuver.)
Rest up, Farsi, we'll see you in two games! The rest of you, proclaim our team motto:
Forward, Heroes!”
