“OCCS Reeborc Stomp! Jan 2010 TR 100 - game 7 for Cheezie Poofs
Finally! +1 FF and a 4th win. Now I'm in the running for the playoffs, though I don't know how my tie-breaker standing looks.
This was a good match for the rats. I was very patient, and was rewarded by the New World Odour having some bad luck with the dice. Not many armor breaks in the 1st half (some KOs and a BH on my Guard SV late in the half), but I was able to withstand the assault and bottle up the ballcarrier. Then he made a break with the ball carrier and Mind Control totally flubbed a 1-die block. I grabbed the ball and raced for the endzone, scoring on turn 8. 2nd half I received the kick off and basicly danced around in the backfield waiting for an opening. I switched sides of the field twice before creating a very narrow opening along one sideline. I made a long line of defenders for the ballcarrier to hide behind and was rewarded with another failed 1-die block by the Odour. TD 2-0 on my turn 5. Opponent gets ball and throws a few blocks. Then he moves for the ball and fumbles the pickup (he missed his Big Hand player). I swarmed in and was able to put 2 rats on the ball and 1 on the beastmen near it. The Odour quickly changed direction and moved to surround my players, but I was in between him and the ball. I almost lost it when I double skull/POW'ed a 2-die blitz, knocking both players to the dirt. But the Odours push onto the ball landed it in the hands of 1 of my gutter runners. He decided instead to make a new Rotter with his Beast and killed Gorgonzola Gerbil (who was already niggling). Because it was turn 7, I decided to use the apo to prevent it, but the apo was too busy raiding the cheese supplies to do any good so Gerbil died and the Odour added a new member to their ranks. I scored the TD, only to be rewarded with an injury timeout! Clock rolled back to turn 7, and my opponent had 2 chances to pick up the ball and throw a pass. He moved scorers into position and threw some nice 3-die blocks, but didn't get an injury or a completed pass. Both times the thrower simply fumbled the throw and the game ended.
Good game Araz, and thanks for your help with the icons. Grats on your new Rotter. Treat him well and remember the Cheezie Poofs each time you field him.”
