“Well, what was a good game turned quickly sour when my opponent started calling me a Bastard for stalling..saying it's a dirty tactic that only Bastards use. Of course, he's building all of his Gutter Runners into One Turn Scorers (all have sure feet, 3 of 3 have sprint).
Now, I know it's not fun to be stalled against, but it's a valid tactic that stronger teams sometimes need to use to get the win. I wasn't fouling or anything to try and get his team off the field...sad really.
Anyway, every time I rolled a POW, he made a remark (POW! or something)..even on 2 and 3db's he's complaining about me getting POWs..but it;s ok for him to dodge 3 times a turn with each of his 3 GR's without failing..that's not luck at all! And he seems to forget the SEVERAL times that I rolled skull, pow/skull on blocks against guys with block when I didn't have block...2 turns in a row ended that way at one point (and the 2nd was the 1st block of the turn).
Still, my opponent thinks that luck was the ONLY REASON I won this game..that and my dirty tactic of delaying for a few turns.
anyway, 1st half went ok...I almost stopped him from scoring, but he tied the game on turn 8 (after I had thrown a block and went down with my Mino)
2nd half, I was kicking off to him...and I get a blitz..well, that is lucky for me (and it became a mantra for my opponent)..as the ball was going to land on the LOS..so I get a couple of guys there..but they are both in TZ's..so I'm going to have to roll a 6 to catch it...the CW doesn't catch it, but it bounces to a Beastman who does catch it...Now, that is lucky, I admit..but luck is PART OF THE GAME. Part of being a good coach (or decent coach, I'm not a great coach, but I'm no moron!) is putting your players in position to have a chance at getting a good roll!
Anyway, so, i have the ball now because of the blitz. Yet, the Rats do knock the ball carrier down (with a POW...seems my opponent doesn't complain when HE gets the POW). But with my strength and positioning, I am able to get the ball and get it out of the scrum in the middle of the field.
It's about turn 3 or 4 when this happens. Next turn, I move my Ball Carrier towards the opposite sideline and set up a cage..as most of the rats are tied up in the other side of the field about mid-field.
My opponent doesn't even try to get someone down towards my ball carrier...so, I slowly move forward with the cage..set it up on the sideline with just 3 playes and send the other 2 to help in the middle of the field..
All my opponent does is try blocks and push my guys around..Boy, talk about playing into the chaos team's hand... I don't normally delay, but with his 3 GR's with Sure Feet and sprint, I can't really afford to let them have time to score..it could easily end up a 3-2 loss if I score on turn 5 or 6 instead of 2-1 win. Since he didn't make an attempt to move anyone towards me, I delayed..but I did score on turn 7..leaving him one turn to score...he could have done it..with the sprint/sure feet GR's and a few good pushes he could have done it..seen it done and done it too many times my self not to know it was a possibilty..but instead of play, he wanted to argue about the validity of stalling and how it wasn't playing the game..that he wanted to play the game, but obviously I didn't...course, I was still throwing blocks and I was still moving towards the EZ (slowly)..but that didn't matter to him...He claimed he only cared about having fun, but I think it was that I didn't allow him the chance to win the game, so he was frustrated..(been there myself).
I won't put him on any black lists..I'd play him again if he wanted, but I think he doesn't want to play me again..only wants to play someone who will hand him the chance to win a game on a silver platter.
Just remember, I didn't foul..it could have been alot worse for your team had I begun to foul.
“Nothing to say. I want to enjoy playing bbl, not reporting a game as if my live depends on it. I hate delaying, and i call bastard my opponent, i excuse for it. No more. Thanks. Not need searching the web to know delay is filthy ...”
