“The Crown of Sand B Major kicks off in one week. This is the quest to get these lizards from 150/139 to 210/x without any horrifying injuries.
Match 1 sees us up against 7 ogres and 2 gobbos (but including a DP), while we have 11 players. We get two handicaps: smelling salts + extra training.
We opt to receive, getting a touchback and then trying for a series of pushes on an ogre set up near the sideline, but instead of pushing him out of bounds we manage to badly hurt him with a pow! Result!
They counter by badly hurting a skink (with a gobbo!) and KO'ing another, then on turn 2 their DP badly hurts our kroxi.. ouch! We do however take advantage of some early turnovers to get the ball safely through to beside their endzone, where we stall away a couple of turns. On turn 6 they niggle our frenzy saurus, and our apo fails :(
We score on turn 8 having never taken a block against the ball carrier. They get one turn of fun, badly hurting another saurus. This means we have just 4 sauruses and 3 skinks for the 2nd half vs 6 ogres + 2 gobbos.
We kick but manage to 3d blitz their gobbo with the ball on our first turn- badly hurting him! By turn 2 though we're down to just 5 players on the pitch and can't hold them back anymore. Their +AGI ogre runs the ball up to score on turn 5. A KO'd skink wakes up so we have 6 vs 7 and a few turns to go.
We break down one side with a sidestepping skink, using our 4 sauruses to make a loose wall against the ogres- and manage to score the winner on our final turn when their last gobbo badly hurts himself on a dodge!
