“After just scraping into Prem this season the DRW want to prove their worthiness of retaining their spot. First up is the ever damaging Mort Avaritia. As luck would have it for the second time in 3 games their under health players all failed to turn up after contracting a virus. This really helped the numbers advantage and should really have been a 1 sided game.
True to last season form though coach Barre continued to apply faulty tactics which led to a less than ineffectual offence, the problem compounded by some abysmal ball handling, attention was diverted to something we are more sucessful at though and some nice damage was done to help our chances in the second half.
Starting the half with 6 player the Mort went about thei business of evening the numbers by removing 3 players from the pitch in the first turn, this could of turned ugly for the DRW, but cas flowed from both ends and the numbers were maintained. Donny continues to be a thorn in our side, almost capitalising on a slim chance to score by catching a pass, it was not to be and the DRW finally realised there was a ball on the field, and just scraped i na score at the end.
Thawnlows:
3: Donald Hibberd: I want him dead, there will be contracts out on him.
2: Samuel Burston: did all that was required of him in the second half, team mates let him down
1: Bob Hawke: despite a close call with death played well.”
