“As I expected, my team's greatest weakness is just handling the ball. Out of four or five attempts to pick up the ball (including the kickoff at the beginning) I actually managed to pick it up exactly once: In the last turns of the second half.
The first half started quite badly for me, with Fnord rolling a blitz on his kickoff. He took full advantage of that, hitting me much harder than I expected. I never really managed to take back the initiative after that. Even worse, the hobgoblin I sent to pick up the ball not only managed to fumble it, but knocked it right over the line of scrimmage where the Pansy Boys quickly surrounded it. One bull centaur managed to break through the cage and blitz the carrier, at which point he fumbled the ball again (of course). Fnord recovered the ball, formed his cage, and stomped his way to a touchdown despite my best efforts.
The second half (the Hammers now outnumbered thanks to a few KOs and one serious injury) wasn't much better than the first. Fnord failed an attempted pass to his blitzer which might have been a bit of luck for me if my chaos dwarf hadn't promptly fumbled the ball. Again. The blitzer recovered the ball and would have scored another touchdown except that Fnord chose to delay for a bit just outside the endzone, apparently underestimating just how far a bull centaur can blitz. One of my chaos dwarfs managed to recover the ball and threw a desperate pass to a hobgoblin, who sprinted for the endzone scoring a touchdown! Or he would have, if he hadn't dropped the ball. AGAIN.
All in all, a very good game. Suprisingly little blood, though. After all of the carnage, there was only one serious injury.
Congratulations, Fnord. Hope to play you again soon.”
