“145 KO Shield XLVI - round 1

This was a pretty evenly matched game starting out. I won the toss, elected to kick, and did what bashy teams are supposed to do against elves - force an early score. On the next kickoff I had to field the ball deep (almost on my own goal line), so I made sure to hit everything I could. I also Got the Ref with the kickoff, and it paid off. The elves of Arcturus put up a good defense, but I was able to get a manpower advantage and pressed it home. It took a gfi on turn 8, but I was on the board (1-1) and getting the ball in the 2nd half. The elves got a horrible KO roll, along with a BH and were down 3 players. 11 vs. 9. The next kickoff went out of bounds because Arcturus' kicker was residing in the KO box, so I gave it to Fetid Freddy. With the numbers advantage, we marched down the field and were able to send a few more elves off. I took my time with a small cage, positioned Noxious Niles to tentacle 3 players, and made an opening in the elves' defenses. Once I was through, I moved Freddy up near the endzone and sat on the goalline in a perfect textbook stall. Arcturus was content to let me sit up there and bashed on poor Leeroy the Leper who was tying up 3 players. Eventually I sent some help to Leeroy but no further casualties resulted for either side. I scored on T8 and kicked off one last time. Orion from Arcturus was able to complete a pass on the last turn of the game to get a skill and the game ended 2-1.

Good game, Heathenfist, I enjoyed playing against you. The game was decided on that bad KO roll I think, but you played well with the players you had left.
