“Initially the Dwarves entered the game not expecting much, but things swung my way early on.
One of the Dark Elves failed to appear from a niggle and the handicaps were good. Illegal drugs meant I had a Str 4 Runner on the loose, Doom and Gloom allowed them only 1 reroll for the first half and Bribe the Ref 2 meant I would at least be able to foul once or twice, with the first foul I made removing the opponents DP from the game.
After a tense first drive, I eventually scored on Turn 6 (after stalling for a short while) and with the Dark Elves being out of rerolls (due to Doom & Gloom) I was able to keep them out for 1-0 at the break.
The second half was much the same in reverse, with the Dark Elves breaking through the lines and stalling until turn 7. With non rerolls left, the Dwarves prerpared to try a quick pass to skill a Blitzer and had a few players back, which was handy as the Dark Elves got Blitz and in other circumstances could have put us in trouble.
With the game ending 1-1 and no permanent injuries the Dwarves are starting to take shape, although there is still alot of building to be done.
Thanks for the game DaCoach and good luck for the rest of the season.”
