The Crusaders were in a confident mood going into the match against the GoldGrabbers. The dwarfs had recently been cut down to size (209/231 to 185/175) by Dhingo Initiative. Despite GoldGrabbers return to form (9 cas) against hereditary enemies Skye Krushars (Orcs) in their last match, the High Elves figure lightning wouldn't be striking twice ...

1st Half Crusaders Receive

The Crusaders were leery of standing toe to toe with the dwarfs. Strong armour, heavy hands and thick skulls would prevail in a dog fight. The first half started with the High Elves falling deep and the GoldGrabbers slowly advancing. Andreas Godde opened the hostilites leaving the Crusaders pondering retaliation or a charge down the flank. Despite being concerned about the famous dwarven frenzy and the High Elf's relative lack of Side Stepability the Crusaders stormed forward. The High Elves knew that this was turning match was quickly turning into a grind with Awen Forlious only stunning a dwarf with his boot and ST4 Lineman, Timirian Baetem, falling victim to the GoldGrabber's third block of the game. The Crusaders exploited a weakness in the Dwarven flank defense and pushed through to score at near the end half. 1-0 to the High Elves at half time.

2nd Half GoldGrabbers Receive

With the GoldGrabbers pushed forwards the High Elves opted to kick deep. The Dwarfs went straight to work, trying to tie up as many Crusaders as possible and removing them from the pitch. With only the two runners in the GoldGrabbers backfield the High Elves tried to apply some pressure and create a turnover. But an early quad skull blitz left the Cursaders defense in disarray. The main block of dwarfs continued to push forward and bash High Elves off the pitch. With the runners still in the backfield the GoldGrabbers tried a short pass that ended in a turnover. Surrounded and out numbered the Crusaders gambled for a quick riposte rather than playing safe and getting grounded down. Catale Loulua was able to make the dodge and pick up but the pass was too much for him. GoldGrabbers Blodge star Gordon Gekko came away with the ball and Crusaders decided to save themselves for the one turn TD attempt as they would be unable to put significant pressure on the ball. Dwarf boots took out another High Elf and with none of the three KOs coming back the Crusaders were going to struggle for the 1-turn TD. 1-1. Inital optimism at the Goldgrabbers set up (All SFs off the LOS and free passage through the backfield) was dampened by a blitz that ended any chance of a 1-turn TD.

Well played Miyuso, I'm glad I played the weakened version of your dwarfs :D.

Twahnlows:

3 Votes - Gordon Gekko - CEO - TD, CAS and a safe pair of hands to carry the ball.

2 Votes - Gregory White - Liasons Manager - Nasty road block CAS machine .

1 Vote - Lief De La Viak - GM Infastructure - Did plenty of grunt work and got his boots dirty with a foul CAS.
