The match was, to say the least, one sided. The elves were fighting with a serie of injuries and MNG players, and the early injury the witch elf suffered meant that my opponent had to fight with unskilled elf linemen against a full chaos team with a block minotaur.
One failed pass in the beginning of the first half gave the chaotic players the opportunity to take the ball back and cage safely the chaos warrior holding it for a touchdown at turn 5. The elves tried to keep the ball out of reach of the beastmen's hands, but to no result, as the ball carrier was blitzed by one of the beasts, who managed to score a second touchdown in turn 7 !
The game proved quite brutal, and ko and injuries roll on both sides reduced the numbers a bit, but the chaos team had a comfortable advantage. With a full half and the elves kicking, the chaotic team took all the time it needed to score a third touchdown and make the second chaos warrior skill. The dark elves did all they could, even managing to get one lineman inside the cage (a scary moment), but they couldn't stop the third touchdown in the sixth turn - at that point, only three elves remained on the pitch !
On the following set up the chaos snatched the ball from the opposing elven hands once again and tried to go for a fourth touchdown, but they ended up one GFI short - ah well.
The result was a victory for Mutation Addiction ! Let's hope they will fare as well in the rest of the tourney, and kudos to my opponent who remained calm and a good player during what must have been a long and probably a bit boring match. :) ”
