“Bugmans North Challenge February KO TR 151-200 round 2 (NWL Battleground)

Handicap roll was Extra Training, I think I still had 1 reroll at the end of each half so I never used the Extra Training. Still, I always feel better with a reroll in my pocket so I won't knock it.
1st half I won the toss and elected to receive in the hopes that I could remove some humans from the field. I was successful, getting 3 KOs and a BH. I scored on turn 8 and only suffered 2 KOs in return. Got 1 back the 2nd half.
2nd half the humans came out swinging! I gambled, putting my 2 Stand Firm blitzers on the LOS along with my ST 4 linemen. It almost backfired, as 1 Blitzer was BH and the other was KO'd. Still, the humans had started a man down due to some horrible KO rolls (0-3 on T8 1st half, 1-3 on T1 2nd half) so I was hoping that I could either force a fast score and get some players back or prevent the score entirely. After sending another norse off to the KO box, the humans settled down and I started playing a prevent defense. Eventually I got an opening when Catchup dropped an easy pass from Boss Man. I scooped up the ball and moved Skeld behind some friendly bodies. The humans were able to knock the ball loose from me and ran off with it but didn't get far. Weath blitzed Catchup and stunned him, and he and Helfdane covered the ball until some more norse could get over to assist. We finally got it moving the right direction, thanks to Sven Ole Thorson only to have Pork Chop strip it away. With time running out on T8, I moved a Guard in, knocked the 2 human blitzers down, had Weath scoop up the ball and throw a short pass to Helfdane, who ran it in with 1 gfi for a last second score (using a reroll on the catch). Very exciting finish.
Thanks for the game Mully. I had some great rolls in the 1st half and took full advantage of them, but you hung in and almost tied it in the 2nd half. It could have gone your way if you had completed that 1 pass. Hope to play you again soon.”
