1st round

The Titans gave it a great effort, but Special Weapons and Tactics was simply not going to be stopped today, not by anything. It was a good match, very close the first half. The Titans managed to put a lot of pressure on the ballcarrier, stalling the drive early, and even knocking it loose once. However SWAT recovered and got it further downfield. 2 crowd pushes reduced my numbers (no injuries thankfully), then a SI niggling on my Guard lineman used up my apothecary (no regrets here, I need him). The final straw was when Theodoric Masson failed a dodge and died. This happened to a SWAT team member in the 2nd half, too, but his apothecary was available and successful. SWAT scored and I got one turn to bash em on the LOS (nothing memorable). SWAT got a Blitz! on the kickoff but did nothing with it.

2nd half started with a Blitz!, and SWAT was able to get the ball with a Blitzer. I spent a good chunk of the 2nd half trying to get that ball back, but to no avail. It wasn't even bad rolling on my part, I just couldn't get people into position, and my only hit on the ballcarrier resulted in a push. Another score and this game was pretty much in the bag, but at least I had enough time to try and score myself. So there was another Blitz! on the kickoff, and that was the 3rd one in a row. This one wasn't quite as disastrous though one of SWAT's catchers did catch the ball. I got it back quickly, and managed a nice pass downfield to a waiting Kenneth of Albion. Unfortunately, SWAT was playing killer defense and somehow managed to get a blitz through all my TZs onto Kenneth, knocking the ball loose. Then he picked it up and got it nearly all the way to my goalline, only to misclick in turn 8 and fail a tough dodge (no death this time). So while it should have been 3-0, it wouldn't have mattered to the Titans since that was the last turn.

The Titans didn't skill anyone, but we didn't lose any fan factor either and made enough money to buy a new Blitzer so it wasn't a complete loss. The game was as exciting as I thought it would be, though not as kind to me as I would have liked.
