“The Crusaders were sure that this was going to be a brutal game and hired a wizard to tip the battle. The Dhingo's took the initiative by hiring the Count. Van Drakenbourg in anticipation of an easy victory took his appearance money went off for a quick bite in town. The locals didn't appreciate his table manners and they hired Zara to take him into custody, making him miss the match!
1st Half Dhingo Receive
The game was played in a blizzard and a Bad Kick gave the Dhingos a safe platform to build off. The Necros started in brutal fashion; two one assist fouls produced two SI. With the Dhingos rolling down the field in cage, the Crusaders fell back to regroup. The High Elves tried to contain the Necros and hold their shape but the necros were relentless, star player Warrigal Dewclaw blitzed forward and dodged back. The Dhingos cranked up the pressure with a three-assist foul on Crusader star Catale Luolua. The ref was keeping a close eye on the necros but failed to take action. With only 6 Crusaders left on the pitch the High Elf coach played his joker and ordered the wizard to fireball the necro cage. The fiery conflagration stunned the ball carrying ghoul and took down Border Prince Billie. Seeing this the Crusaders rallied and pressed forward; Sigurd I of Norway blitzed into the remains of the Dhingo's cage and scooped up the ball. The Necros surrounded Sigurd I of Norway and Border Prince Billie got up to strip the ball free. A blitz to shift the ball, a lucky scatter, a lucky catch and two dodges saw Sigurd I of Norway sprinting away with the ball towards the Dhingo's EZ against the run of play. Zombie Mjoedgal Mjoedgalsson niggled Sethphalon Beito (apo fail) and the Necros consoled themselves further by gang fouling Andrius Ellisan, badly hurting him, whilst the referee looked on and did nothing. Sigurd I of Norway strolled into the EZ at the death of the 1st half, 1-0 Crusaders!
2nd Half Crusaders Receive
Down to 10 players the High Elves fell back to protect the ball and their 1-0 lead. The Dhingos were happy to advance slowly keeping Warrigal Dewclaw safely behind their front line. With the Crusaders happy to wait for the Necros to take the initiative, the Dhingos sensed that time was wearing thin and they pressed 1-on-1 against High Elf vanguard. The Crusaders busted the Dhingo's barricade and flooded through, risking the blitz but shielding against other players picking up the potential ball spill. 013b Tusk dodged into two TZs to provide the assist for the Necro blitz which knocked the ball free near the sideline. With the game time ticking down, the High Elves dodged forward and blitzed away the covering Dhingo player to recover the ball and throw it down field. The Dhingos took out and took down the Crusaders furthest up the pitch but the remaining High Elves were able to cover the ball, surround Warringal Dewclaw (the nearest Necro to the ball) and block other Dhingo players from getting to the ball. 013b Tusk dodged into two TZs again tieing up two Crusaders while Border Prince Billie blitzed an opening for Warrigal Dewclaw to dodge free. Warrigal Dewclaw managed to pickup the ball from under Roger I of Sicily's nose but failed to dodge away from his tackle allowing him to scoop up the ball and score. 2-0 Crusaders! The High Elves were grateful for the Perfect Defense that allowed them to limit the Turn 16 damage to a foul stun and blitz RIP.
Glad the Count was out when we played Balle. Better luck next time.
