Handicap - Virus (This was very painful as it took out my 2 niggling linerats and took me from a 13 player advantage to an 11 player deficit)
A crazy, exciting game that was decided in OT. The orcs of BC Orcelona were inflicting serious harm to the Cheezie Poofs in the 1st half, but the tenacious rats hung in there and prevented the score. 2nd half the rats got the ball and were able to score even though missing every pass they tried (handoffs were working fine). The last missed pass may have been a blessing as it ate up another turn. With only 4 turns to go, the Cheezie Poofs settled in to prevent a tying score. The orcs did a good job of getting into the Poofs' side of the pitch and got the ball into one of their blitzers. However, there were so many rats around that he tripped on one of them and dropped the ball trying to blitz free for the endzone. Parmigiano Prairie Dog swooped in and grabbed the ball, then chucked it downfield. Unfortunately, not far enough to be out of reach of the orcs. He tried to fix his mistake, but the Orcs were able to make a miraculous throw and scored as time was running out. OT saw the rats getting the ball, and I finally demonstrated a little patience. I was outnumbered 11 to 7, so I got the ball and sat on it as deep as I could get. Then I sent 2 GRs downfield and waited. Eventually, 1 of them broke free and was able to park in the endzone. Parmigian ran forward with 2 GFIs and no rerolls and heaved the ball with all his might. It fell just short but took a favorable bounce right into the waiting paws of Mozzarella Mouse to win the game.
A lucky break but just the kind that the Poofs thrive on and create with their daring play. BC Orcelona was a good opponent and put up a hard fight. Thanks for another fun game, ZugarAmurdi. Now if we could just improve your timeliness to the matches :)
