Coach Bascrebolder was a bit worried when the Dutch Diciples finally entered the field again after a few weeks of rest. Were his boys going to be rusty, would he make the wrong decisions and could they stand up to the ferocious bashing and fouling that was to be expected of the Wergild Enforcers...

The headcoach’s worries only grew larger when the undisciplined Wergild fans not only intimidated the Ref (as is good custom for many hardcore supporters) but dismembered him in a frenzy of enthusiasm. The stage was set for a Norse foul fest...

And so it began... The dwarven set-up weakened by Sander still being missing held out remarkably well to the bashing and fouling they had to undergo. Their sturdy skulls and chainmail armour sure did help them out this time... The unarmoured Enforcers however started taking hits. The opponent had to take an injured player to the sickbay in the first few minutes of the match and wasn’t seen again...

The ball was picked up safely by Urian, the experienced Norse thrower and kept back. A shield of wild norsemen put up a shield between the Disciples and Urian. The relentless blocking by the chaos dwarves withered away this shield slowly but surely till the Bull Centaurs saw a chance to charge ahead and reach Urian.

In one of the most spectacular actions of the match Urian escaped from a huge brawl and dodged and sprinted towards the endzone. The Diciples managed to catch up with him however and when Urian tried to repeat his miraculous dodging he got tackled so viciously that he will do the rest of his dodging in Walhalla...

On pure willpower (and lucky KO rolls) the Wergild Enforcers managed to field 11 players for the second half. This is where things got dirty however. Right from the start a fouling war ensued that would last for most of the second half and that would debilitate the Norse. Being tough and well armoured the dwarves could stand the booting a lot better than their opponents and slowly but surely the bashing and kicking was taking its toll on the Norsemen. When late in the second half Geert scored the first and only touchdown of the game there was only 1 Enforcer left standing.

With morale broken the three previously knocked out players refused to enter the field again and left only the Norse freebooter to face the entire Disciples crew. Since there was no ref the Disciples didn’t wait for a whistle and just charged the lonely player... knocking him out straight away...

With the pitch cleared and a 1-0 lead they decided to end the match and get some beers...

Thanks for the match Paco. You are a competent and friendly opponent. Good luck recovering your team and hope to play you again!
