#12 Trevor – Broken Neck (-AG)
Worst start to a game ever, finding myself 5 players down before I'd started my first turn. Mostly thanks to a virus, forcing my aged players to all miss their last game before retirement.

There also seemed to be a conspiracy to prevent Mikey from making a single block. One rock from the crowd on the first kickoff left him exposed to a blitz to be knocked out, and another hit him directly. He finally made his one (frenzied) block in the second half, but he failed to even break armour and was knocked out straight after.

The first half turned into us desperately trying to recover ourselves from a serious risk of being wiped off the pitch by elves, almost completely ignoring the ball for the whole half as the Seekers stalled it out. The bashing focus eventually at least saw the elves stop knocking all our players down and start dodging away like they're supposed to.

Thanks to that, plus the free turn of bashing after they scored and (most importantly) a failure of 5/6 k.o. rolls, we unexpectedly found ourselves with a 9-8 numbers advantage for the second half.

The second half was where the game got interesting (for both sides I expect). We needed a win, so we were determined to score quickly, but a mis-throw to Elli in the end zone saw the ball in elf hands. After that the ball went back and forth across the field like crazy. Eventually Aidan left himself exposed in a desperate run as we ran out of time, only to see the ball taken back down the other end for 2-0.

An enjoyable if painful game, where the bad start balanced out the huge TR/TS difference to turn it into an interesting competition.

Twanhlows:
3 Torn Continuum - Well deserved MVP, he was everywhere and causing no end of trouble. 14 blocks without frenzy says it all.
2 Eternally Cursed II - Stepped up to do some good work getting the ball away
1 Archaic Angstrom - Also some good work getting the ball away, but didn't live up to his reputation with one failed pickup that nearly put us back in it.
