“Ratchester United 1 - 2 Maharak Dead Boys

The Count had always been aware of Rat teams... sure Mummy's hit hard and sure AV7 make for fragile opponants but a long standing grudge with Azure and his pesky rats and not to mention a still fresh loss to the Ratchester lot were clearly not to be ignored.

Rats are slippery creatures and you give them an inch and they take a mile... litterally with bursts of super speed, half decent agility they can cover the entire pitch in a single turn endzone to endzone.

So the Count was worried... first match back in the Championship... Rats. Joyous.

Not only this but cruel fate had taught the Count well that Nuffle loves an underdog... and well the start of the match that certainly seemed true. A mystery virus knocking out some key players for the Dead Boys and their already limited number of tacklers were reduced.

Luck was certainly a mixed bag but some fortunate manouvers in the first half allowed the Dead Boys to force a Ratchester TD too soon in the half given them an opportunity to retaliate, marching slowly up field to level the scores before the half.

Another stroke of luck was the timing of the match, in that it was the first match of the season and the Gutter Runners for Ratchester were clearly not upto full speed so a last second TD for Ratchester was virtually out of the question.

The Dead Boys recieved in the 2nd and attempting to protect the ball move slowly up field depleating the Rats as they went. All the rats casualties fell withing a very short period of time in the second half, apart from the unfortunate death of Riot Ferdinand who tackled an unsuspecting Zombie and fell to the ground on a discarded boot spike.

Unfortunately for Boba there was little Ratchester could do once there numbers were so limited. The Dead Boys waited out the clock and shambled over the line for a late win.

The Count was glad to have the Rats out the way and then glanced over the fixtures list... Wood Elves... sigh.
