“Standing on the bottom step of the staircase leading to the Ninja Monastry Umbrage shouted his challenge.
The Grand Master looked down through his spyglass and noted the mighty armour. the mottled, febrile tenticles and Umbrage's mutated brethren standing behind him. He nodded slowly and indicated with his cane to Ryu that he accepted.
Words kicked first and the ball fell close to the LOS. Ninja's covered the ball and then tried to claim it with their rookie thrower who fumbled it in an awkward position. Words put a bunch of tackle zones onto the ball and then a scrum begin. Eventually Kaede, the Ninja's veteran thrower danced in to take the ball and passed it to Dakuan, hoping that the old man could scamper free to score.
Dakuan did get clear but was taken down by a solo effort from one of the beastmen. He hit the turf so hard that he was knocked out by the hit leaving the ball in the beastman's hands.
Word's managed a slow grind up the field knocking out many of the ninja's in the process. They finally managed to rouchdown in the last turn of the half. With many ninja down and out it looked grim for the humans in black. However, as we all know, as the amount of ninja's decrease they become individually more powerful: a single ninja is able to destroy an army while an army of ninja's are able to be taken out by one warrior. Such is the paradox of the Ninja.
The second half ninja's kicked and Words caged well. However some good positioning and teamwork from the Ninja's managed to preassure the ball carrier and eventually spill the ball for two blitzers to dive upfield. Ryu Hayabusa and Samonosuke Akechi sprinted for the touchline. They were intercepted by two beastment but, as they were two on two the ninja's managed to fight clear and score.
The game ended 1 - 1 with honours even.
Was a really good game. Really tense and I was gratefull to get the tie.
