“Atlatl took advantage of an early mistake by the ref (he got too close to our fans) and was able to remove a lot of 69ers from the pitch early from the game. This was a major help as the Falchions are not terribly good with the ball and ended up playing defense very quickly, but with the blessings of nuffle were able to all but clear the pitch by halftime, surfing 3 of the 4 remaining 69ers on Turn 8. However the fans in the endzone were obviously not into the game as all 3 were barely scratched, not an injury in the lot.
So after halftime and quite a few 69ers returning to the pitch Atlatl was able to set up 8 versus 8, an obvious lizard advantage as this was most of their starting team anyway... A rare mistake by San Fran allowed the lizards to get into position to play in their backfield. With soo few bodies Atlatl was able to get a hit on the ball carrier and Eirik We'mes was able to skitter in for a quick TD early in the half. Atlatl blitzed on the next kickoff but was nicely picked up and a saur will miss the next game due to a chop block during the blitz. The 69ers seemed to have OT in hand when star thrower Einir Aesen failed a dodge using the teams last reroll and then snaked a Quick Pass (target -2, or something like that). The used up final reroll sealed the game when next turn Samurai went to throw a 2db skulls.
GG Nico, Atlatl still has some playoff magic trapped in a bottle. Maybe this time We can sneak it all the way to the trophy. Thanks for the match.”
