OCCS Cabalvision Athletic Cup 2010 [TR150], semifinal.

Didn't even realize we were playing 18 TS down, but it sure felt hard throughout the game. Hard fought match, stalling cost the first goal for us. gg

Edit: I am well known and feared?? Didn't knew that either =)
Oo, and actually TS difference was bigger as I didn't even use the wizard. I think I'm wizards guild best employer, as I don't even use their services, though I'm paying them =)

In the semi-finals of the Cabalvision Athletic Cup the Dead Knights face off against the Undermountain Aggressors. While the "official" odds may have favored the Knights, team owner GeneralMarauder is a well known (and feared) commander, quite skilled enough to overcome the odds.

The game opened with the Aggressors receiving. They set up a punishing front line quickly breaking open the center of the pitch. Following that, they flattened one side, beginning to drive the ball down field. It was obvious who had shown up wanting blood. The Knights were shoving people around, but the Aggressors were knocking them down. The only complication for the Aggressors was the surprising agility of the Knights' wights, who escaped to harass the ball carrier repeatedly. Finally the wight Ventrix managed to bring down Rascal (the hobgoblin ball carrier). With the ball loose and dangerously close to the Knights' end zone, the Bull Centaurs retrieved the ball and stalled to eat up time and crowd surf Ventrix. The Knights in desperation managed to take down Rtedy Redsteel and knock the ball loose. In fighting over the ball, the wight Icetouch almost escaped with it, but was tripped up at the last moment. In their eagerness to surf Drift and cause more damage to the Knights, the Aggressors forgot about the undefended ball and accidentally allowed time to expire without scoring.

The second half started with a perfect defensive formation from the Aggressors, and the Knights lined up in what looked to be for a long steady march downfield. Despite the Knights' best efforts, the Aggressors mounted a stiff defense, even managing to KO the mummy Akhen-Tor early. Even without Akhen-Tor, the Knights managed to punch a hole in the Aggressor defensive line letting the ball carrier Avelos and Velas to squeeze through. The Bull Centaurs took offense and quickly put a stop to that effort. With the ball bouncing around in a mob of people, Velas managed to escape and recover it for a moment before being flattened. The Knights were getting desperate, as they had been reduced to eight players on the pitch by the fury of the Aggressors. Fortunately for them, the ball recovery attempt by Rtedy Redsteel bounced through his hands, Tadhel Deathtunnel's hands and then was picked up by Drift. That didn't last long as Drift was KO'd immediately after and Sargon was surfed, leaving only six Knights. Even so, Ventrix managed to secure the ball in hopes to stall long enough to bring the game into overtime. It was not to be, as Rascal took the ball in for the score as time expired.

An exciting and tough match! GeneralMarauder had luck on his side as well as out playing me. The only fortune for me was the lack of casualties and the gentleness of the crowd, who were apparently more interested in the fight over the ball than the sidelining of players. Good luck to you GeneralMarauder in the finals!
