The whole game we suffered from pouring rain. That proved to be my undoing, since I usually rely on picking up the ball, and using the Skinks speed to race the ball home with a handoff or two. The Elves had things like AG5 men and Nerves of Steel, and wasn't hampered by the rain in any significant way. Combined with a blitz in the second half, I really had trouble moving the ball.
The Kroxigor really took the attention, since he not only inflicted two casualties, but also managed to end up with the ball three times. Kroxi stupidity won the day, since he failed to move twice on critical occasions and thereby preventing me from passing the ball on. All handoffs failed (admitted, some of them were difficult for me with sidestepping elves and rain), but we had a close fight :)
Fun game, and I guess I'll have to rethink my strategies when it rains. I can't really think of any way to do so yet apart from rolling doubles on skills or buying more rerolls. At least one of them I can do for sure :)
Oh, just watched the reply, since I had this peculiar feeling that I did something really stupid. And yes, I made a pointless block which pushed his AG5 man one step closer to the ball. If I hadn't done that, he'd have to make 3 2+ moves more to get the ball. That might just had been enough, considering that he already had to make 4 of them. Just goes to show, that often when you think "technical error" it's really a human error :)
Thanks for a good game, Rene, and I hope to play you again. ”
