“Well, the Havenstreet Homeboys started their season with a 2-1 win over the Cowes Bulls in Sweltering Heat.

The handicap was Smelling Salts, which proved worth their weight in TR against the MB heavy Bulls.

The homeboys opened with a Blitz! but poor positioning from the coach (and dare I say it, a bit of bad luck) meant that there were just 7 of the elves left on the field by the end of turn 2, but despite this, they managed to trap the ball carrier, and get a solid blitz, before using AG5 to gather the ball and get it away, and although the ball was knocked loose, AG5 did it again, though, with those dice, anyone in range could have...

After the TD had been scored, 2 of the 4 non MNG blockers, and the newer Bull Centaur, decided that things were just too hot out there, and they needed a break. This left 7 of the bulls to face a full 11 homeboys.
A failure to drop players on the LOS, along with a foolish (IMO) followup from the troll, gifted the homeboys a turnover oportunity, although the ball was in 2 tackle zones. A risky -2 dice block vs the troll later, and there was a clear path to blitz one of the bull centaur covering the ball, the scatter left the ball in elven hands, and although the carrier would be blitzed and that bull centaur nearly escape with the ball, it was recovered and secured simply enough, with the elven stall leaving it 2-0 at half time.

The second half felt far scrappier, with any plans either of us managed to concoct being shattered by a combination of opponent's play and dice. In the end, one of the bulls managed to get away and, despite a last gasp effort, scored, to leave it 2-1 at full time.

GG Gordreg, felt like there were times when I couldn't be stopped, and others (particularly at the start), when I couldn't do anything, but in the end my AG5 player won it for me, IMO at least”
