We opt to kick, since da coach has a cunning plan- blitz! We punch a hole in the middle and run a few rats through- our dodge thrower catching the kick! This really puts the frogs on the back leg, and they are leaping players through to try and knock over the ball carrier without any luck. T2 and we've badly hurt one linefrog, while another has contrived to BH himself with a failed dodge so they are down to 9 already. We run through carefully to score on T4.
We kick off and they rush forwards down one side, pulling off a sweet 2 turn touchdown despite fairly heavy man marking by our team.
There are still 3 turns left in the half for us, so we go for a 2nd, but a very nice T8 from the slann sees them KO the ball carrier and a linerat, badly hurt our leader thrower and surround the ball. We try, but quickly fail, to get it and the half ends.
1 KO snoozes on either side so we have just 10 vs 8 with both our throwers missing. A poor kick lets us handoff the ball to a linerat and move forwards, KO'ing a blitzer and -AV injuring their catcher though the apo patches him up. T2 and a lone slann lineman leap blitzes over our line to 1d POW our linerat KILLING him!! Our apo saves him (sort of) and we reform our line. The next turn a gobbo 2d blocks their block blitzer, somehow scoring a KILL!
They are attacking the ball extremely well however, knocking over goblins again and again, eventually badly hurting one. On T5 they have a great turn that almost turns the face of the game around, stealing the ball out of a mass of our players and almost passing it downfield. By T7 we've recovered and have a loose screen around the gobbo with the ball near their endzone and they fail to leap through to blitz at the ball. We can simply scamper into the endzone to win the game, but instead we opt to hand off to a different gobbo on 3spps... and even rerolled fail it! The shame!
Our MB storm vermin scores our third kill of the game as a consolation prize and the match wraps up a draw. GG apollo78 :)”
