Nobbla is noticeably absent from first set up. The kick is shallow and away from the majority of the homeboys, though they have a reasonably balanced set up, passed back behind the LOS to a catcher and covered with guard. Slog is BH'd with the 3rd block of match.
Homeboys drive forwards, but have several players in position on the opposite side of field for the pass. A 1db skull cuts short the Wreckers reply with a turnover and a KO. The Homeboys look to cover all bases, advancing ball and providing more options for pass and score plays. An ineffective foul could prove to be a mistake by the coach though.
Wreckers attack the defence agressively, causing a KO, and bringing in more players to cover the ball carrier, however this leaves them open to a chain push surf that gives their main ball hunter -St. In return, they trap the BC on the sidelines, and give the homeboys a half dice for surf option. This would have freed the ball up considerably, and left the wreckers defence wide open. The Homeboys try to take the half opportunity given to them, but fail, this leaves them out of position and as they dodge away, the BC is KO'd.
The Wreckers try to capitalise, but a failed dodge from their captain leaves the way clear for the Homeboys to break free and position themselves for the score.
The Wreckers kill Gudair, the captain, in response to this, with the Apoth failing in his relatively simple job, but little else is going their way, as another lino gets badly hurt from a simple block, and the ball safe in scoring range.
Looks like nobbla's gonna have to face a send off roll before he can get that saw swinging, though a bribe might help there. And with no DP left and only one tackle for the multitude of dodge the homeboys can field, the wreckers are starting to look rather weaponless to stop the homeboys taking the win home, unless nobbla can do something heroic next half. And a quick pass ends the half with a success for the wreckers as they look to develop a new thrower while surviving the brutalities of the premiership.
The homeboys set up with a perfect defence and an all blodge LOS, as they lack expendables, and so minimal damage is the order of the day. Covering a mid-deep kick, the chainsaw starts straight away as the wreckers look to go on the offensive, however the defense proves hard to break down, and the homeboys pull back out of nobbla's range to give the bare minimum.
The Wreckers commit to a push down one side, and the homeboys yield another square as the wreckers risk over committing to the nobbla blitz which only produces a stun, while Artaan places himself in position to score should the ball come free. A 1Db opportunity on the ball only produces a skull, when anything else would have done.
The wreckers move to capitalise on this, but when Nobbla's blitz fails, and he BH's himself trying to dodge away, leaving an easy 2db on ball, things aren't looking great. The homeboys take the chance and drop the ball carrier next to the sidelines in the hopes of getting the ball into the crowd, and out of the ruck, however, the ball bounces around a little and a BO grabs it. The Wreckers look to advance as fast as possible, but leaving the ball carrier without sure hands next to a strip baller, is never a good idea in my book.
A 1 db on the thrower gives a surfing opportunity, the BO gets surfed by Analadunr, the homeboys strip baller and ball flies free. Ahidracc breaks from the ruck and grabs it, covered by Anasibaat.
The Wreckers make a double surf (I think it was out of spite, as it left the captain out of the game) and look to cover the ball carrier and his assistant, while dropping Artaan, who was the only elf in scoring range.
Artaan frees himself and Ahidracc passes him the ball, but he drops it, the fool. The covering blitzer picks up the ball in a TZ and fails the pass to the bunch of wreckers on the far sideline. The toss back fails when the pick up is stuffed and so the game ends 1-0 to the Homeboys.
