“This game was pretty much all about luck.

I received the opening kickoff, protected the ball, did a cheap 1SPP pass to get a skill-up. Easy stuff. 2nd turn of the first half I failed an open field catch/reroll, leaving the ball on the ground. A scrum quickly formed, with no one being able to pick up the ball. Somehow the ball got popped to an edge, and I was able to swoop in with a nonsense pick-up-in-traffic-double-GFI to score. Kick off with a few turns left in the half had blitz, with the ball landing near the LOS. Again, a scrum formed around the ball, and no one got control of it enough to attempt a score.

In the first half I killed one of his ghouls, and with him BH one of my players and SIing another (APO'd successfully. I was running out of warm bodies). All KOs came back, so I entered the 2nd half with 10 players to his 11. The second half saw a massive swing in my favor. In one turn I managed to KO a mummy and 2 zombies, turning the numbers advantage my way. I lean on the other team hard, draped myself over the ball carrier. The carrier broke loose in the melee, I ran him down, he tripped trying to dodge. Pick up the ball, pass, hand off, score on turn 8. Game ends 2-0.

My only conclusion is I got lucky. Neither coach made any glaring errors: I was able to score in the first half due to the ball appearing and me making a succession of rolls with no rerolls in hand. In the 2nd half I got a man-advantage pretty early, and made the most of it.
